Please support Troop Aid if you can. They are a voluntary organisation dedicated to helping support our injured troops. To quote from their website:

“TROOP AID was founded in November 2006 by three ex servicemen as a result of a visit to Selly Oak Hospital’s Alexandra Wing in Birmingham. This is the home of the Defence Medical Welfare Services who are responsible for the welfare of all Armed Forces Personnel, male and female who have been injured during the conflict in Afghanistan and elsewhere”.

When troops return to the home from the war zones they usually arrive back without their personal effects or clothing. The objective of TROOP AID is to supply the ‘basic essentials’ when service casualties return from serving their country overseas.

If you want to add a Troop Aid banner to your blog or website it is quite easy if you are even slightly familar with the HTML code that makes up your page. Copy the code below by clicking inside the box then Ctrl+C to copy the code. Go to “Layout” if you are a Blogger user, and click the tab marked “Edit HTML”. Scroll down the page until you find the tag labelled <body>, paste the code into your template immediately below the BODY tag. If you are a bit nervous about doing this click “Download Full Template” to backup your existing layout then if you mess up you can restore the original layout by using “Choose File” and “Upload”. WordPress users shouldn’t need any instructions. The procedure is virtually the same.

The only place the logo is stored is on my domain at http://earlshilton.org.uk/images/troop-ribbon.png. If you want to copy it to your own domain please feel free, but don’t forget to change the url in the code.

UPDATE: This code may not work for some templates. It worked for me, but that doesn’t guarantee that it will work in every template, so remember to back-up your template before playing around with the code! I can’t accept responsibility for any cock-ups. If you do find any ‘bugs’ in it please let me know.
