Obviously the signwriter didn’t pay attention in the English class at skool. I wonder what his other work looks like? In our local paper it stated that: “. . .at the Battle of Bosworth in 1485, where Henry VII was killed, it was found that . . . etc.” In the same paper you very often find “there” and “their” used in the wrong context, but we’ve got used to that and it’s no longer funny. Whatever happened to Tony Bliar’s promise at the 1997 elections, “Education, education, education”? We’re all doomed I tell you!

I always tell my pupils that a lot of English children make spelling mistakes too – I won't mention the grammar that the BBC throws at us sometimes…

You're right, we're all doomed! And strangely enough (and you should never start a sentence with 'and') just prior to reading this I had read the latest cry for help on an IT Technical Support forum: Quote: Even if you don't understand the 'techy talk' you could still have fun extracting the ….! (E.g. "allow me to run antimaleware". I wonder how many female readers on here would wish for such a thing?) I blame mobile phones and texting!! P.S. My diagnosis is that they've been on a dodgy games website. My solution would be to throw the computer into the waste/trash bin and advise them to take up jogging!
